ABOUT US

Our church is made up of local believers from Esparto and the surrounding areas.  We are a church where everyone feels at home. We encourage families, nurture children, honor seniors and support the needy.  Everyone is welcome.  We support one another and "do life" together as a family.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to establish a vibrant, healthy, growing church in Esparto where local people will learn about God, grow in faith, and experience the abundant blessings that come to those who follow God.  We envision a church filled with local families, with children's classes, and activities for the youth. We desire to build bridges of inclusion for all who love Jesus and follow Him, working in harmony with other local Christian churches.

OUR COMMUNITY

We want to be a positive force in the town of Esparto and the surrounding communities.  We do this by building up local people and families by being a part of an encouraging and supportive church family.  We also look for ways to support the local schools, community associations, and work projects.

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

We know going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking, and meeting new people can be intimidating. We want to help make your first experience at Calvary a great one!

What are the services like?

We meet on Sundays at 11:00 a.m.  The atmosphere is casual and relaxed.  We are blessed to share the facilities of Countryside Community Church.  Our service is a little more than an hour, and includes a time of singing, prayer, and an encouraging message from our Pastor.  We often hang out after service for coffee and snacks, while we catch up on the events of the week.

What about my kids?

We welcome kids of all ages to be part of our Sunday morning service. We believe that the way children are welcomed in the church directly affects the way they respond to church and to God. We want kids who grow up to love God and love the church!

Childcare is available for children preschool age and younger.

A growing church

Our desire is to grow into a church that has more families and children.  Right now we are small, but we welcome you to become part of a core group building a community of Christian families here in Esparto.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible is God's Word. It is completely true, and teaches us everything we need to know to live a successful life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-20

God the Father is perfect, holy, wise, and all powerful. He loves us and wants us to to know Him. He hears and answers prayers of those who seek Him.  Pslams 145:8-9; 1 Chronicles 29:11

Jesus Christ is God the Son. He came to walk on this earth as a man, to provide a way for us to be restored to a relationship with God.   Colossians 1:13-22

God the Holy Spirit is equally God with the Father and Jesus. He is teaches, guides and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.  Titus 3:5-6 or John 14:16-19

Nobody is perfect, but God is.  Active rebellion against God, or passive indifference to Him is sin. Everyone has sinned, and that separates us from being close to God. Without God we are lost. But Jesus provides the way for our sins to be forgiven.  Romans 3:23; 6:23

God bridged the gap that separates us from him by sending his Son Jesus Christ.  By trusting in God's provision in Christ, we are forgiven and have a new life with Christ. It's God's gift that we receive by faith, not because of anything we did.  Ephesians 2:1-9; Romans 10:9-10

The church is a living spiritual body, composed of everyone who believes in and follows Jesus Christ.  The local church is a group of believers in Jesus Christ, who join together for  worship, service and friendship.   Ephesians 5:23-27
